Ceylon Black Tea with a bold flavor and the distinctive aroma of bergamot.

There are several versions regarding the origin of this tea's name, but perhaps the most compelling one is the following:
During his time as Prime Minister, Lord Grey sent a diplomatic mission to China, where one of his envoys is said to have saved the life of a mandarin—or, according to another version, the mandarin’s son—from drowning. In gratitude, the mandarin sent Lord Grey a uniquely fragrant tea flavored with bergamot. The tea became popular in Britain and was soon known as Earl Grey.

It’s worth noting that at the time, bergamot was not well known in China, but it did grow in nearby Indochina—modern-day Vietnam.
