Holiday Sweets with Tea: Earl Grey Cupcakes & Pu Erh Tiramisu
The holidays bring with them aromas and flavors. This year, why not incorporate tea into our desserts? Earl Grey Cupcakes with lemon frosting and Pu Erh Tiramisu are two special recipes that combine elegance, the warmth of tea, and a festive mood.
Earl Grey Cupcakes with Lemon Frosting
Ingredients (for 12 cupcakes)
Cupcakes:

120 g butter, softened

150 g sugar

2 eggs
-
180 g all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder
-
2 tbsp milk
-
2 tbsp aromatic white Earl Grey tea, ground
Lemon Frosting:

150 g butter, softened
-
250 g powdered sugar
-
Juice & zest of 1 lemon
Decoration (optional):
-
Edible flowers or powdered sugar
Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and line a cupcake tray with paper liners.

Beat the butter with the sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time.

Fold in the flour with baking powder and milk, then gently incorporate the white Earl Grey tea.

Divide the batter among the cupcake liners and bake for 18–20 minutes. Let them cool.

For the frosting: beat the butter with the powdered sugar, then add lemon juice and zest until creamy.

Spread or pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes and decorate with edible flowers or powdered sugar.
Tip:
Serve with a cup of black Earl Grey tea for the ultimate experience. Perfect for an afternoon tea party.
Pu Erh Tiramisu
Ingredients (for 6–8 servings):

250 g mascarpone

3 eggs (separated)

80 g sugar
-
150 g ladyfingers
-
200 ml strong Pu Erh tea

2 tbsp dark chocolate, grated

Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions:

Brew a strong cup of Pu Erh tea and let it cool. Use about 5 g of tea leaves for extra strength.

Beat the egg yolks with half the sugar until pale and fluffy.

Add the mascarpone and fold gently.

Whip the egg whites with the remaining sugar into stiff peaks and fold into the mascarpone mixture.

Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the Pu Erh tea and layer them at the bottom of a dish or glasses.

Spread a layer of mascarpone cream, sprinkle with grated chocolate, and repeat for 2–3 layers.

Finish with cocoa powder and additional chocolate. Chill in the fridge for 4+ hours before serving.
