Dark extract, strong smoky smell and taste. It perfectly accompanies salty and slightly smoky flavors. It is known to have been Sherlock Holmes' favorite tea.

The smoking process is quite complicated. First the leaves wither over a fire that burns branches and trunks of pines and cypresses. After "frying" and rolling the leaves are pressed into wooden barrels and covered with cloth to ferment/oxidize until they begin to emit a pleasant smell. The sheets are "fried" and rolled again until they have a thin and straight shape. Then they are placed in large bamboo baskets that hang them in a reed above smoking pine branches, to dry and absorb the aroma of the smoke. When this process is over the leaves are thin, shiny and black.
